Privacy policy (English)

In short: what you type is saved on your device first, and a finished session is uploaded to the tool's database so it appears in its owner's reports. No ads, no tracking, no selling of data — not now and not later.

Last updated: 5 October 2026 · Covers the app “The Quran Recitation Tool” (com.tajweedoo.sard) and its web version.

What stays on your device

Every session — its notes, positions and durations — is written to the app's storage on your device during the session, not over the network. That is why recitation works offline, and why a session comes back as you left it after the app is closed. Your language, dark-mode and edition preferences are kept with it.

What is uploaded, and when

When a session is ended, a copy is sent to the tool's database; a session still running is not uploaded. If you are offline when it ends, it waits on your device and is uploaded the first time you open the tool with a connection. What is sent:

  • The reciter's and the listener's names.
  • Their WhatsApp numbers and countries, if entered — a session works without them.
  • The edition, riwaya and position the session reached.
  • The session's notes, their counts, its durations and its progress.
  • The teacher's email address if one is registered with Tajweedoo.

The microphone and recitation checking

In review mode you can let the tool listen to your recitation and suggest places where a memorisation slip may have happened. All of it happens on your device: the audio goes from the microphone to the model on the device itself, is never uploaded to any server and never saved to a file. It stays in memory while the review screen is open, so you can hear a place again, and is dropped when it closes.

  • Microphone permission is asked for only when you press “Record my recitation”.
  • The model (about 73 MB) is downloaded only after you agree on a screen that states its size, from the same file store the mushaf pages come from, and is then kept on the device.
  • What the tool suggests is neither recorded nor uploaded. A place you confirm yourself becomes a note like any other in the session, marked as coming from the recording.

Why, and who can read it

It is uploaded so it appears in the reports of whoever runs the tool, and so a recitation certificate can be verified when its code is scanned. Reading this data is limited to the tool's administration through a protected interface; no other user — and not the app itself — can read a row that is not theirs.

Services requested from outside the app

  • Supabase — the database holding uploaded sessions.
  • Cloudflare R2 — mushaf pages are fetched from a file store as each page opens; that request carries what any request for a file on the internet carries (an IP address and a device type) and nothing about the session.
  • Google Fonts — the interface fonts are loaded from Google's servers, which therefore see the device's IP address.

If the reciter is a child

This is a teacher's tool, and the reciter may be a child. Entering a child's name or contact number is the teacher's responsibility, and the guardian's permission must be taken first. A session can be run with no WhatsApp number at all, and with a first name alone.

Deleting your data

A session on your device is deleted from the session list in the tool. For what has been uploaded, write to support@tajweedoo.com and we will delete what is yours from the database.
